` MILA GREYBACK: It sucked having a brother as a professor. Especially in class that she didn't feel like sitting through first thing in the morning. She was trying. Wasting her life away in the library, trying to make sense of the homework sitting in front of her. It wasn't even potions, it was ancient runes. A class that he had insisted she took because the professor was ~all knowing~ about the subject. He was ~all knowing~ because he looked about a hundred years old. The runes were probably still being written when he was a kid. Mila sighed heavily under her breath, her nose wrinkling up. This was for the birds. Letting the quill fall out of her hands, she crossed her arms and layed her head down on the table.
Sure, it could be considered giving up. If she payed a kid enough or threatened them, she could probably get them to do her homework for her. That was definitely an idea. Seeing as professors beat the crap out of whoever they wanted to these days. it wasn't like she was going to get in trouble. Sitting up once more, she began to blankly stare at the shapes in front of her. How could symbols even be considered a language? Glancing over, she spotted a familiar face- immediately reaching for his arm. "Hey, you," she let go. "You're in my class. Are you good at any of this stuff?" Her brows were furrowed, watching him. Camden Davies...always the first one to get in trouble. "Probably not." Mila turned around, frowning slightly at the book, forgetting that she had even asked him for help. She was going to fail this class. That was for damn sure.

im like a rubber band , if you pull to hard, I fall apart
Camden was zoning in and out. There were some subjects that we was actually okay at in this school, some that he was purposefully bad at the piss off the professor, and others he was surprisingly decent at, which angered professors all the more. Camden was a smart ass, and with that territory came at least some intelligence. He may not have the attention span of the robotic ravenclaws, but he managed. So as he was zoning in and out of writing a potions essay in the library, Cam realized he really needed to get out of there. Stand up, run around the school a bit or at least some form of jumping jacks. He checked his watch, detention in an hour. A breath filled his lungs and he stretched, looking around him, leaning a bit too far back into his chair and waving his arms drastically before catching himself on the table and returning to safety. "For merlin's sake." he grumbled, realizing that was the last straw- and stood up, picking up his things.
But as he started towards the door, a hand grabbed his arm. In a rush, he turned- flinching slightly at a left over bruise from a particular professor a week prior. But a smile found his face immediately, finally interpreting her question just as she decided he was not the man for the job. Camden, watched in slight amusement as she turned away again, what an odd duck. "That's darkness, not the moon." He nodded towards her parchment. Then pointed to make it clear as to which one he's talking about. "You can tell by the squiggly shape on the bottom of the doohickey." Vocabulary may not be his strong suit but he communicated the best he could. Besides, he was more of a visual person. A grin found his lips, going to take a step back but knocked the person behind him's book to the ground and jumped. "Shit." He muttered, picking them up and standing handing them back. "Sorry." he called at the grumbling ravenclaw, now scurrying away.

` MILA GREYBACK: Mila wasn't a good student. Some subjects seemed easier to her than others, but school wasn't easy for her. It didn't come to her naturally. In order for her to do well, she really had to pay attention (which was hard to do) or get a tutor...which severely hurt her ego. Well, what ego she had. She didn't like being put on the spot and the professors that knew that, loved to call her out in class. It was almost a blessing in disguise when someone would get in trouble. Yeah, everyone was terrified that they'd be next, but it gave her the chance to find answers or scare them out of another classmate. Camden...she had a feeling that he was secretly a genius. Behind all of that...goofy exterior...he probably had a brain in there somewhere. That's exactly why she had reached out for his arm.
She had turned around before he had been able to answer, however. Her face was buried in her hands until had began talking, turning her head to look at him with her big, brown eyes. He was interesting. Turning to look at her book, she watched as he pointed out which rune he had been talking about. Looking at him once more, she started to smile before he backed into another student- causing her to stand up beside him, immediately looking at the other student. "You need to watch where you're going!" She gestured to Camden, her eyes wide at the Ravenclaw. Letting out a small sigh, she turned to him and said, "They're all weird. Who likes to learn that much." Pursing her lips, she stared at him a moment. "Would you mind helping me? If you have something else to do, that's fine, too. I'm not good at all of this stuff..." He didn't owe her anything. But he understood squiggles. That was enough.

Mila was a greyback. Which really anyone knew. Everyone knew, for merlin's sake. And they also knew she had a very close sibling relationship to the one and only Nic Greyback. Which but Cam slightly on edge about all this. As much as he wasn't one to judge, and actually liked giving people shit... there were some things that could endanger others more than himself. Though he highly doubted Nic would hurt his own sister for merely getting scholarly advice from Camden- these days, it wasn't so far off. After all, Cam has been on the wrong side of a Greyback in the past, and it really wasn't good for his health. Luckily for Camden, letters were screened leaving the school, so his family didn't know how often he got hurt, or there really would be some trouble in paradise.
Camden laughed slightly at Mila's joke, "No kidding, but really no kidding. They don't even smile. How anyone could live so seriously is beyond me." he beamed at her. But despite everything that said for him to walk away and fake something to do, he thought there couldn't be any harm. With a goofy grin, he plopped down next to her. "How can I assist, fine lassie?" He was ready to answer any question, or at least help look up some answers. And to be honest, she probably didn't even know if he could actually tell any of the runes apart except moon and darkness, but she took a leap of faith and he figured he'd try the same. After all, he lived rather recklessly. Looking over her notes he couldn't help but laugh, "Wow, lots of colour there."

` MILA GREYBACK: Reputation was an important thing in the wizarding world right now. Years prior, Greyback's weren't known to have the best reputation. They were loyal to purebloods, but were still treated like they were inferior. Not just this werewolf family, but those that were like her in general. After the third war, everything seemed to change. Werewolves claimed the Dark Forest and were free to roam where they wished. Her father was one of it's current occupants, but she wasn't really interested in all of that. Mila didn't know him all too well and she was happy for that. She was already the daughter of a monster and that was enough to make her cringe. When he bit her fourth year, everything she had thought up in her mind about him, had changed. He was no longer misunderstood. He no longer had left her for a good reason. He was a heartless bastard with his own agenda, that wanted nothing more than to use his offspring to gain power. She had grown up without her biological mother and father and as she matured, she began to realize why. It was the reason behind Mila not wanting to take a side or take a stand. Everyone had their own plans. She had learned to never trust a politician, but these days, that included Order members and Death Eaters.
Of course, Camden sitting with her could have caused a stir if she wanted it to. There was no reason for that, though. Just a girl trying to not flunk out of her seventh year. When he laughed at her comment, she smiled slightly. His laugh was infectious. Was he always this happy? She didn't understand. He was weird. When he asked how he could assist, she snort-laughed, tilting her head to the side a bit. "Lassie? I hunted a d--..." Pausing, she cleared her throat and flashed a bright smile. "Anyway, I'm having trouble differentiating some of the ones with a lot of...squiggles and thingys around them. Especially the ones with the slant thing by them." She looked at him, entirely serious before looking back at her notes. "Well...each color stands for things...like, yellow, I understand. Red...I have no idea...which is why it's mostly...red." Mila frowned slightly, leaning back and sinking into her chair. "I don't have the attention span for this. I don't. I could watch a deer in the forest for an hour without blinking. But this? Makes me want to gauge my eyes out." And she stared blankly at her colorful notes. "This is so stupid."

"Lassie, like the irish speak. I've got a cousin there, I think." He shrugged, "Nonetheless it's far much more than just the stereotypical woman, I'll tell you." Camden raised an eyebrow, not really understanding the cut off about a d? Dog? probably, but he didn't think too much into it. He knew that she was a werewolf. He was always curious as to why there was such an acceptance of werewolves but not the muggleborns who now were roaming over the wilderness, uneducated about things that could save their lives. He pushed this thought away, knowing that the idea of a werewolf is they could be used as a weapon for the darkness that settled over the country.
"The slashes after shows that it't a negative when it's placed backwards like that, forwards- it's a future participle...." he said, once again, pushing his slender fingers forward to point out what he was meaning. He listened to her with an amused smile on his face. "It's a matter of what your initial instinct thinks is important. For someone who's so set on survival, this means nothing." He shrugged, then looked over at her with a grin, "though, i firmly believe one day I may be lost in some cavern and these symbols could be my savation. Knowing the difference between life and death based on squigglies could be all the importance." He teased, doubting he'd find himself in any cave at any time in his life.

` MILA GREYBACK: It was times like these that Mila wished that she had the patience of a saint. School was frustrating to her. People were frustrating to her. Combine the two and it was a living hell. Being overly dramatic and literal, of course. Things could certainly be worse...or get worse. Neither of which she hoped for. Hearing Camden's explanation made her grin. The guy wasn't Irish, but she was going to roll with it. She had already determined that he was weird. Things like that were expected to come out of his mouth, now. "Oh...right, yeah. Wait. You think? Isn't that something you'd know for sure?" She was being honestly curious. Wouldn't you know? "Far more?" She deadpanned, blinking. "Then what does it mean to you if I'm "far more?" What does that even mean? Mila shrugged when he raised an eyebrow. She wasn't going to explain that she mauled a dog on accident after she had just been bitten. It wasn't one of her fondest memories. She actually felt really bad about it. Dogs were cute.
When he began to show her what he was explaining, she leaned in closer, watching where he was pointing. She really didn't care for personal space. In fact, she could hear his pulse quickening. A small grin began to form before she turned her head to look at him- serious. "I'm trained on survival. I think it's hardwired into my brain. It's weird." She was weird, now, too. His next comment made an unexpected laugh escape from her lips. Covering her mouth with her hand, her eyes were still alight before she mouthed that she was sorry to the librarian. "If you were stuck in a cavern somewhere, I'd rescue you. I don't know if those squiggles telling you a story about Merlin only know what, would get you very far." Mila settled with a grin, looking back to, what appeared to her, as a red blob on her paper. So. Much. Red.

im like a rubber band , if you pull to hard, I fall apart He heard her question and looked at her with a small smile "Nah! He's young, spry, and always on the move. Grew up there, 'course, but has a tendency of running around." Probably because he was being chased by the bad guys, but Camden didn't feel like that was necessary to add. She very well could be one of them, and while he didn't believe that entirely, he still had a habit of at least trying to be cautious. At least for five minutes and then he could let shit fly. But for those five minutes he would focus on everything but the war that was driving everyone to madness. Besides, Cam hadn't heard from him in a while, so there was always a twinge of possibilities that he didn't like to think about.
He shrugged and looked at her slyly. "shouldnt' matter what it means to me, all that matters is what it means to you. which I'm sure is alot because you're no ordinary person. You are special, purely because of your excessive use of highlighters." He rambled on and on, not really caring how she was taking all of this. While he did possibly mean because she was a werewolf and probably a wise person, despite her problems with runes, and where she was very pretty- he couldn't concentrate too well- he needed to just talk to calm down, which is a problem of his in everyday life, particularly classes.
he grinned at her laugh, "All I'm saying is I can read an english exit sign, and if there's some cave with these symbols .. someone could be lost forever if they didn't understand them. But I... I would know. And be the hero that leads everyone to safety, and girls would swoon, I could hold up some gold trophy that wasn't really gold but at least looked that way..." He laughed, "Itd be wonderful, I'm telling you now. Perfection. Hero moment to the max!" Suppose rambling was an understatement, but this was Camden, he couldn't keep his tongue in check for the life of him. And in some classes it may be the matter of life and death. | words: xxx notes: <3 |

` MILA GREYBACK: Mila decided that she liked this guy. He was someone that she could definitely be herself around, not that she had ever really had that problem before. She laughed at his comment about his cousin. "Spry? I don't think I've ever heard someone our age use that word in a sentence." Mila settled with a grin before she had looked back to her work, paying attention to what he was saying. He said a lot of things that made her laugh. It was weird, which she had already decided, but it was a nice change. After she had leaned in closer, she had turned her head to watch him, her face several inches from his. She actually smiled listening to him before she snickered. "But I wanna know what it means to you." Why did she care? She wasn't sure that she did, but she liked listening to him talk.
This whole conversation that had started when they mentioned runes in a cavern was...ridiculous. And hilarious. Mila bit down on her bottom lip, her eyes alight as she held back another laugh. "So what you're saying is...I'd essentially be screwed because what would really probably say, "Exit to the left," I would read it as, "The cat likes water." I would die! So, you would be the hero. You'd definitely most likely...have to save me. I think I'd let you." She grinned. She was now rambling as much as he was, but she didn't hardly notice it. As an outsider looking in on them, they looked like they were snickering children. It didn't look like there were two seventeen year olds studying or getting homework help. They were essentially doing the exact opposite and she was okay with that.

im like a rubber band , if you pull to hard, I fall apart He found she was actually laughing around him. That was odd for him. sure, a lot of people laughed at him. It was reassuring sometimes, that he could get even the quietest and most reserved people to laugh. "Are you kidding? I'm an old soul." He teased her. But as he explained, he could feel her move in closer. And after years of never minding a lack of personal space, Cam hardly noticed except for a slight nervousness making his hands vaguely clammy. He was being ridiculous but he could feel her eyes and tried not to look. Surely this was the perfect recipe for him saying something stupid and making her hex him or something. He couldn't get too comfortable in this. "It means you're cool." He said, trying and failing at being mysterious. But at least he tried, right?
He laughed at her, smiling brightly. "Yes, I'd be your hero." Camden said, smliing gently at her. "But only because I couldn't probably get out of the cave without your help- readings or not." the gryffindor looked at her, smiling brightly before shaking his head. "Right, well, anyway. Any other questions. I'm a quite terrible teacher, anyway...."
