Despite all his planning and manipulating he had done. Not to mention everything his dear wife had done to improve their image and charm potential supporters and opposes to follow their direction. His grey cold eyes watched as her move across the room to the bathroom and to the closet and she was getting ready for her own day. Without her I may never have a chance to become Minister thought Arik he gave a small smile to his wife before giving her a kiss and leaving the room to leave the house. He was already late for work as he had to deal with re working plans with his wife the entire morning and almost all night. It was a tiring effort staying up all night to make plans to secure power only to have to change them because of another unforeseen roadblock. Grabbing his walking stick he made his way out the door of the Victorian style manor looking across the grounds of his property, a garden filled most of the grounds. “A garden will make us look less cold” he could still hear the words in his head of his wife for the reason they planted so many flowers. He made his way down the cobbled stone steps to the front gate and as soon as he walked out of the gate, there was a small crack and he was gone.
In another crack he was standing in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic, the place he would soon command. He was in fact the second in command, and if only the Minister could disappear everything would be Arik’s. A smile crept on his face as he nodded at people and moved past them making his way to the lifts. Standing in the lifts he small talk as he awaited his floor, people were always wanting to talk to him weather be Aurors he used to command, or lower level staff hoping to impress him and move on up. Rewards are given only to those of loyalty, absolute loyalty thought Arik and with a swift nod he was off walking down the halls of the first level of the Ministry, home to the Minister and all the other support staff. He nodded at his assistant before making his way into his office and throwing his coat onto one of the chairs before taking a sit in the chair behind the large mahogany desk. Removing some files from a locked desk drawer he started to go through them, as if he was looking for something. The old man’s grey eyes were locked on the documents of past people he had fired, and those of just people who didn’t work in the Ministry at all. His mind and senses that usually were always on full alert, all focused on the unofficial looking folders of documents, completely unaware that he had a visitor standing in his doorway.
