Post by NICOLAUS JAKOB GREYBACK on Dec 19, 2014 21:27:23 GMT -5
` NICOLAUS GREYBACK: It was only two days ago when the full moon had occurred. The mark on his arm was a fresh wound, from two days ago. Nic had purposely not used his wolfsbane potion two nights ago, to attack someone. The attack had occurred in Hogsmeade, an area outside of the Forbidden Forest. By the end of the night, he had ended up in the Forbidden Forest. He had purposely attacked one of the residents of Hogsmeade for the simple reason that they were too curious. The person was often found standing too close to the death eaters, who had decided to travel to the village for a drink. The nosy person had what was coming to him. Nic had another reason for attacking the man. Ever since his mother had been killed for attempting to fight against the death eaters, he had been changing. Not for at least a year, he hadn't tortured anymore of his students. Nic mainly resorted to giving the student more homework piled onto their current assignments. He also had resorted to taking wolfsbane potion, something that he had only wanted to know about. Never had he thought that he would use wolfsbane potion. Unlike a good amount of the Greyback children, Nic had grown up with his father in his life. It wasn't a privilege like some of his siblings may have thought. At the age of nine, Nic was bit by his father and had never taken wolfsbane potion. In fact, he had become similar to Fenrir, putting himself in the place of a victim to bite. The attack on the shopkeeper was so no one would think he was resorting to wolfsbane potion. It was something he did once in a while to ensure that no one would catch on to him. The past three years, he had been the potions professor at Hogwarts since the death eaters took over the castle. He had participated in all three battles that resulted at Hogwarts, Azkaban, and the Ministry. During two of those battles, he had killed and tortured people just like any other death eater. At the other battle, he had most likely bitten and killed others since it was a full moon when the death eaters took over Hogwarts.
Nic had always been the silent, secretive type. Anything that he did, was thought out and had a purpose behind it. If he had attended Hogwarts, he most likely would have been sorted into Ravenclaw like his mother had been when she attended the school. He barely opened up to people, including his own sister. The two had met when they were younger and his mother had taken him along to meet the girl. She had been lucky enough to have been adopted by a family that took her in. He hadn't learned of the girl until they went to visit her. During that visit, she told the two that she wanted nothing to do with them. She didn't understand at the time why their mother had given her up and kept him. The two were reunited when the death eaters took over Hogwarts and he ended up being her potions professor. The two did not speak at all until she appeared at his door, after being bit by their father. Unlike how he started out, he supplied her with wolfsbane potion from the start even before he started using it. Mainly out of care as her older brother, something he didn't do for any of the millions of Greyback children running around. They were all raised by other women and in different lifestyles. The only one who had the same parents as him, was Mila. Potions always played a part in something, even in the reason why he has in the courtyard presently. Nic had walked out to the courtyard which was scattered of students. No one paid much mind to him since he wasn't exactly one to make friends with the students. Instead, students stayed away from him even though he didn't torture any of them anymore or send them to detention even. They had seen what he had done in the previous year and a half of his position as the Potions professor. They all knew what he was capable of. He had been sitting at the bottom of a tree, reading over a planned essay that he was going to give to the students for their next assignment. However, he had just gotten up to walk back to the castle when a woman came walking in his direction. Almost as if she had been searching the entire castle for him.`ooc notes; ugh these two <3

` CHARLIE FINNIGAN: Infuriated didn't even begin to cover how Charlotte was feeling right now. Hogwarts wasn't the school that she had once loved anymore. It was a prison for it's students. Everyday they had to walk a thin line and if they didn't, they were punished for it. It made her sick. So, instead of getting a job far away from this hell hole, she decided to get one as the assistant nurse in the hospital wing. It wasn't ideal. She'd rather have a job at Mungo's or even a job in the muggle world away from everything, but there were two reasons holding her back. The first being her little sister. At least being at the school, she had some kind of say as to what her punishment was if she were to ever get in trouble. Also, she'd be able to confront whoever hurt her if she did manage to get herself into trouble. The second reason was more personal. Her dad died on the school grounds trying to get to herself and Emma. She almost felt like she needed to leave her mark on the school or do her dad some kind of justice. Sure, it might sound ridiculous, but it was a journey that was keeping her sane. Keeping her motivated. Charlie felt like by being there to help the kids, making their day even a little bit better, would help take away some of the pain that they were dealing with. It was also a way to get information on who was hurting them for the Order. Kids seemed to be very forthcoming about that kind of information.
On her weekend off, Charlie was making her way back to her home in the small village of Hogsmeade when she saw someone that she knew to be a professor, changing at will. Changing as in turning into a fucking werewolf. Of course, this wasn't as uncommon as it used to be. With werewolves allowed to be on the premises of the school and elsewhere, many had come of of hiding. Though to be honest, the Greybacks never really hid. They seemed to embrace who they were...which were bastards. The only two that had some semblance of a relationship were the two that were fully related; Nic and Mila. When a wizard was brutally murdered in town, however, Charlie was able to put the pieces together before anyone else.
Storming into the castle, she searched high and low for his face. Trying to look like she was being normal was difficult considering that her face felt like it was on fire. How could he?! He was one of the only professors that didn't beat the shit out of his students. Now this. When he wasn't in his classroom, she began to search all reasonable areas before heading outside. After hearing a few Slytherin girls gushing, she had heard where he was. As she approached him in rage, no warning buzzer was going off in her head. No warning signs were flashing as he looked up and met her eyes. She wasn't afraid of him. She pitied him. "You're a sick son of a bitch, you know that?" Charlie snapped, her long hair framing her face. She didn't care if he was the devil himself. "And here I was, thinking that you had some decency about you. I know what you did." Steam literally could have been rolling out of her ears. He was almost as tall as her sitting down as she was standing. "And if you think you're going to get away with it, you're sorely mistaken." There was that sickening Gryffindor bravery.

` NICOLAUS GREYBACK: with the lack of wolfsbane potion that night, nic had attacked the first person that he had saw. that person being the one that he had intended to bite. since biting the shopkeeper, nic hadn't seen him in the two days that he had visited hogsmeade. that meant the man was most likely still healing in st. mungo's, attempting to understand what was going to happen to him each full moon from then on. instead of attacking the man, nic could have left the school and joined the order of the phoenix. he could have taken the big step back from the death eater's ways and assisted the order with information about the death eaters. however, that wasn't a likely thing to happen. there was a reason that he would not have been sorted into gryffindor. he was more of a follower than a leader, someone who would have rather have been on the side of the winning side. it was logical to not bother taking part in the losing side of the war. it was also more logical when he had a sister attending the school, to keep them both safe from the death eaters and their father. if their father found either of them siding with the order, he would have no doubt, attacked both of them. growing up with his father in his life, he hadn't had much remorse for any of his actions. he didn't even have remorse for the shopkeeper being bitten presently. it was his life or the shopkeeper's. just like any greyback would have learned, if they grew up with fenrir nearby, life was a game of survival. it was either one person dying or another, nic wasn't exactly a fan of dying.
how he changed from his mother's death, was he no longer tortured the students. that in itself was a risk since it was a requirement to torture students, who acted up or got answers wrong. the death eaters wanted everyone from the old to the young to fear them, to be afraid of being disobedient. wolfsbane potion was something he never used for himself until his mother died. it was something highly disliked by his father though he decided it was the least risky move that he could use to slowly distance himself from the death eaters. no one would have caught on, if he didn't take wolfsbane potion once every few months. wolfsbane prevented him from attacking a student by accident, a reason he had decided to take the wolfsbane potion. a reason why he attacked the shopkeeper over a student. being bit at a young age, he knew what it was like growing up as a werewolf. an older man would have taken the news better than a kid would have. it was better to stay in line with the death eaters for now than stick his neck out like some people and get killed on the spot. selfish could have been the perfect word to describe him.
before he had stood up to walk across the courtyard, the woman who had been looking for him, walked towards him. when he had stood up, she was about half his size. charlotte finnigan. she had been a student of his the previous year. charlotte had been on the list of troublesome students since he had started teaching at the school. she often didn't keep her mouth shut when she should have. just like anyone else that attended his classes during that first year and a half, she knew what he was capable of doing. she began to snap at him, something that would have led to torture, if she still been the student she was a year ago. luckily for him, no one heard what she said as they were too invested in their own conversations. thinking he was one of the decent ones out of the bunch of death eaters? she clearly didn't remember the time when a student was almost tortured to the point of needing st. mungo's in his class after daring to say something offensive about the greyback family. the girl wasn't intimidating at all to him, shorter than him. she wasn't smarter than him, clearly. he said, "what makes you think you can talk to me?" he barely socialized with any of the few professors or people that the death eaters had let into the school. the death eaters had let mainly themselves and anyone with a brain to be in hogwarts. anyone lacking those two qualities were murdered on the spot in the interview. when he had spoken, his voice was rough, clearly showing he demanded respect from anyone, especially the girl in front of him. he said, "ms. finnigan, it would be wise to watch your mouth around the people who are in control, especially with so many close ones to choose from." it could have been a threat to her, but it wasn't. at least it wasn't meant to be, he wouldn't have went after students to shut her up. it was more of a warning that any death eater had their pick of choice since they were all about ruining lives entirely. one family member did something wrong to them, the whole family was held accounted for. he stood his ground, not bothering to walk anymore than three steps when he had stood up at first. he threatened, "and what exactly do you, of all people, plan to have done to me? my friend count is quite higher than yours in this world."`ooc notes; ugh these two <3

` CHARLIE FINNIGAN: The first time that Charlie had been in his class, she knew that there would eventually be an issue. The war had just ended and she was broken...confused. She was fatherless and took on the role of a mother to her younger sister because their own mother had been driven to an alcoholic spiral. It was too much for her at the time to process that things were going to be different at school, now. She would no longer look forward to going to class or spending time outside. She and the other students were trapped in their own personal hell. As Charlotte went through her phases of grief, she would go through outbursts in class where she'd challenge his authority. She learned quickly that he wasn't one of the good guys. He reacted in the way that the other Death Eaters did...and he tortured her. She doesn't remember the pain as much as she remembered the look on his face. She wasn't sure that he even noticed it, but he looked like he was in pain, too. It stood out to her. However, something eventually changed and he stopped torturing students. Charlie wasn't sure what had made him stop, but she wasn't going to question it. It wasn't her place and she didn't feel like starting yet another argument. She was already ready to tackle him.
"You're just like the rest of us here, Nicolaus," she bit back to his statement. She should be afraid of him, but she wasn't exactly worried about it at this instant. "You're trapped, too, whether you realize it or not. You're a follower and a coward." That probably wasn't the best thing to say, she acknowledged. The coward comment. When he stood up, he towered over her. Charlie tilted her chin up to look at him, not stepping back any further. She'd show him respect if he showed it to her. She would stand her ground. Not only was she a Gryffindor, but she was Irish. It was in her blood; literally. He threatened her and she wasn't exactly surprised. Taking a step forward, she smiled slightly, her voice eerily soft. "I have friends in places that you couldn't even imagine. Change is coming, Nic. It won't be in your favor, either, and you'd be wise to remember that. It might not be today or tomorrow, but it's coming." Charlie met his eyes once more before turning on her heel to walk away.

` NICOLAUS GREYBACK: after the battle of hogwarts had ended, each person was assigned to a different post. with the death of slughorn in the battle, nic had been tasked with potions professor due to his expertise in the subject. it was something that he hadn't thought of as a job during his school years at durmstrang. as far as careers went, he would have wanted to be an unspeakable. unspeakables studied all different areas of magic and weren't able to speak about it. given his gift of occlumens, he was someone that was quite capable of keeping a secret. after the battle had ended, the death eaters took to torturing students in the school and basically making it hell for them to attend. despite following the orders of death eaters to torture students, he actually did care about the subject. he assigned them work that made their brains certainly turn at least, while other death eaters just focused on torture nonstop sometimes. at the beginning, a lot of students were outspoken and not willing to cooperate. after seeing the death eaters were not showing mercy to anyone except perhaps purebloods, less people began to speak out. the students were similar to how nic was when his mother was murdered, rather than fall out of order, he stayed in order to avoid being killed.
nic could have bit his tongue when she commented back to him that he was trapped like the rest of them. it was partially true since if he made a move out of the ordinary or stood up to anyone, he was guaranteed a curse to the heart. he said, "if i remember correctly, you were the one on the ground being tortured all the time, not me." she was commonly one on the list of students that got tortured. he knew it wasn't just her class that she acted out during. the death eaters often commented that they just wanted to kill her. one was even tempted to kill her until other death eaters were against it. how she ended up with a job at hogwarts, it was unknown since she was such an annoyance to them before. when she brought up that she had friends in other places, it got the wheels turning in his head. the order? it sounded like the order was what she was talking about. they had attempted to group together when the death eaters first began taking over, but failed to. they didn't have a leader and well, the attempt was a failed one. he followed her and said, "i wouldn't go advertising that you have friends and change is coming, be wiser than that." he walked away from her, wondering what to do with the new found information that he felt he had just received.`ooc notes; ugh these two <3

` CHARLIE FINNIGAN: Charlotte had lived by the grace of Merlin. Literally. She was pretty sure that she had suffered concussions due to how many times she had blacked out on the castle floors. There were things that she didn't even remember. Times that were vague due to...something. She didn't feel like dwelling on it. Nic was an interesting person. He was extremely quiet, followed the rules, didn't step of out line. He kept to himself and rarely interacted with other staff members. He sure remembered the bullshit that she went through in school, though. "Yeah, you were apart of that, thanks. I remember every pleasant moment." She grinned slightly, being sarcastic was a bad trait. It got her in trouble. It stung a little bit, however. She thought that he could have been different...potentially a spy. There weren't any signs of that today, though. Maybe she was wrong all along. "Nah, I'm just hoping that you're not a complete piece of shit. Guess we'll see." Charlie had started walking back to the castle. She had warned him. Hopefully it was sufficient enough.
