[attr="class","SScontent2temp1"] “And this is why, ladies and gentlemen, people should always watch where they walk.”
Gracelynn could hear the laughter from everyone around her. The reputation that she received by being the class klutz lived on, as she was on the ground of the castle, wincing in obvious pain. She had just walked into one of her professors, and she felt embarrassed for knocking papers and books out of his hands. This was an everyday occurrence, and if it wasn't for someone screaming 'watch out', then she wouldn't find herself rubbing her lower back and grimacing every once in a while.
The Eagle was attentive in her studies. She was always on time to class, always stayed to ask the teachers questions after class, and always did her homework with plenty of time to wind down before bed. Her grades were top notch.
If only she had the skills to pay attention to where she was going half of the time. Being picked on with crude remarks from her fellow students was hurting Gracelynn mentally. On another level altogether, it was hurting her physically. All of those times that she fell was taking a toll on her tailbone. She bruised it at least three times in the last five years, and not including the year she was currently on.
“Are you fine,” the Eagle said, picking herself up off the ground. She crouched down and began to pick up the materials of her professor. She was too considerate to just leave his stuff on the ground. “I didn't mean to just walk like that. I had my book open, and I thought the corner was safe. I looked up before I turned, but it just wasn't meant to be.”
The professor nodded. “I understand. But close the book while you walk. Or if you prefer, stay next to the wall and read the material instead of trying to multi-task. It doesn't work out properly.”
Gracelynn returned the nod in approval. “Yes, Sir.” She handed the papers over to her professor and started to pick up her own stuff as she watched him walk off. Perhaps six years of getting ridiculed for not watching where she was going wasn't paying off..
